A faraway place
Frequently forgotten
Given to much social unrest 
Hardly known, never understood
And
Never completely tamed
In spite of decades of turmoil
Since overrun by power-hungry
Taliban
And
Never likely to be civilized

Yes, so tragic, Heidi, but can we say we did not expect this sort of thing to happen? I'm am so saddened that it cost more American lives just when they thought they were soon coming home. So heartbreaking.

A tragic situation Milton, I think we could have stayed another forty years and after leaving they'd just slide back to their old ways, I agree, it will probably never be civilised, they have a twisted ideology and are now well armed. I feel for the innocent people who just want to live in freedom. Tom
