Advanced Age
Advanced Age

Frequently it seems life has willed to me,
Matters far beyond my understanding.
Days often resemble a game of chance,
Making life, seem somewhat demanding.
Numerous labors that I can’t perform,
Causes the want in me to contemplate.
Opportunities occupying youthful days,
Before ripened years rendered it too late.
I daily face something having once done,
But at eighty four can no longer achieve.
I now realize it’s a young person’s world,
It took advanced age before I’d believe.
