Adult Child
Adult child.
I gazed in the mirror today
To see myself mocking at me,
The grown up body that
Has trapped the child in me.
The years of experience
Has taught me one thing,
The child within me
Is better dead than living.
The child in his days
Never used to stay beat,
He stood up always
In all kinds of heat.
He used to laugh heartily
Oh! What a sound
The magic of that laughter
Keeps me smiling even in my sleep.
As I grab a look around me
I see a world granting opportunities.
The voice of the child then whispers,
Reciting the life it can grant to me.
It tells me about the lost plans
He had made for the world to see,
The plans, if ever followed
Can make the world so green
