Adrift
In this calm, where thoughts no longer have control
In my subconsciousness, deep within my internal soul
My mind manifests floating images with my eyes closed
In there rests my true essence, all that I am, truly disclosed
Awareness of my breathing, this nothingness abounds
Consciously aware of reality, noticing the subtle sounds
Floating aimlessly as if I were in a different dimension
Finding a stillness and serenity is my truest intention
Ever so deeper into the abyss, within my minds eye
Travelling inward, immersed within this internal nigh
Adrift where no thoughts, nor any negativity dwell
Where all stress, fear and anger bid a fond farewell
In a silence, deep within the recesses of my still mind
Resides an emptiness that envelopes all emotions I find
This tranquility that swirls within my mind, come what may
Connects me to this universe, readies me to greet the day
