What a powerful write. Few words with much said. My last fur angel came from a shelter. Blessings as you write away....................

Hi Karen, a dog is man's best friend. Sad that in old age they have to be euthanized. A touching senryu demanding some forethought.

Yes here they put dogs and cats from the shelter on the news to encourage people to adopt. But they’re also kill shelters that don’t do that. Sad.

O! The last line stabbed me in the heart. Very effective, Karen. Weaponization of the pen --- in a positive way!

This grabs my heart. I'd live on the street rather than give up my pet. Thank you for this statement.

I wish I could adopt all animals that way they would never have to be euthanized!

This is heartbreaking, Karen. You captured that sadness by contrasting the last line with the dog's cute eager nature

Yes it’s awful that they die unloved unwanted.

Dear Karen, I love Haikus and yours stands as an anthem to save a dog from being destroyed. I grew up on a farm and always had dogs. Once I got married, my wife is allergic to dogs and cats, so we have neither but would love to have one. - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Karen, your haiku is indeed to the point! It is such a sad thought to realize that so many wagging tails are not given a chance! A poetically perfect reminder!! happy Friday xxoo
