Thank you so much, Andrea! As fall approaches the crickets seem to sing even louder in a song of farewell but not good-bye! Their song, on an early fall evening is pure enchantment! Sending you blessings of Christmas joy and peace!

I love the analogy you have created here.. I wrote a poem with crickets also, although it was just one verse... this is a poem you have to read a few time to fully grasp its meaning...

Hi SO! Thank you! You have such a wonderful ability to see into the heart of a poem and extract it's nuances and meaning! Even though autumn and winter will still the cricket's song, they return in the cycle of life to sing over and over. creating new enchantments on a calm, summer night. Sending you my gratitude and blessings for a joyful and peaceful Christmas!!

I do love the changing of the seasons. I agree with Sara below, I loved your description of the cricket as summer's troubadour, personification is fun to read. On se voit la saison porchaine, said your red cricket. ( See you next season)

Hi Marikate! Merci! Joyeux Noel! I love the fact that you zeroed in on the hope for la porchaine saison! And, like you, chaque saison a sa propre magie pour moi (each season has its own magic for me.) I am so glad you enjoyed my little cricket! Blessings for a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Thank you so much, Paige. As I mentioned to Kim, it occurred to me that the coming of winter is a time of goodbyes from the summer's bounty! Blessings!

Thank you so much, Kim! It struck me that often in nature, winter is a time of saying goodbye. Sending you blessings and gratitude!
