Addiction
Once upon a time I used to be your addiction
Now you're living in a world where you can't tell the difference between fact and fiction
Your habits are slowly killing you and they're killing all of us too
Wish you weren't so blinded to all that you're putting us all through
I try hard to understand and place myself in your shoes
Been patiently wanting to see you better, but it's what you have to choose
When you wake loved ones are telling you of actions you regret
Staying in denial is an easier way of coping then owning up to it so you pick your poison to forget
There's so much to gain and yet so much to lose
You have to stop playing with fire and continuing to abuse
You fill your body with so much toxic pollution
Open your eyes and see there's a different solution
They watch you slip from good to bad, bad to worse
It's not a blessing,only a curse
Love and family were once your priority, now you have a one track mind
Your only thought these days are where your next fix will come that you'll find
Even if you can't see it you're worth so much more and have so much potential
Find your strength and stick around for your kids it's essential
They have impressionable young minds and need you, we all do
Remember they look up to and are always watching you
You don't want to lose your job over a buzz
Sooner or later it will catch up and there will be trouble with the fuzz
We worry everytime you fall off of the wagon and relapse
We pray this won't be the time you overdose and collapse
There are so many other things that can make you feel high on life and give you an adrenaline rush
Find something you're passionate about even if it's as simple as a loved ones touch
Broken promises and lies destroy yourself,family, and friends
It's time to pick up the broken pieces and make amends
Some days it feels as if you are a complete stranger
There's so much on the line you need to quit putting yourself and others in danger
Past mistakes don't define who you are,it's not too late to take your life back
Take the reigns and control of your destiny, we want to see you succeed and get back on the right track
Peer pressure is awful, but you don't have to follow the crowd
We're here to love and support you, we know you'll make us all proud
You have the power within you to make a change, nothing is ever set in stone
Choose a new path and blaze a trail all of your own
Don't you give up, it's not too late
Make a different choice today and change your own fate
