Addiction

As my book of life is nearly completed
I can’t help feel overwhelmingly defeated
The wasted years trapped in addiction
Stuck in one place there was to much friction
The tracks on my arms show how far down I travelled
Stood ideally by as my life completely unraveled
As I slowly started to wither away
Dropping more weight each and every day
With the hands of addiction holding on tight
I just don’t know if I have the will to fight
As I take my last breath and darkness is all I see
I give a little smile knowing , I’m finally free
