Actors

I read sadness in your eyes, It is a sadness written with new words, By the writer of love dramas, Who wants us to die at the end of the book. I am the actor who listens And knows how to carry out his role, And you, the heroine actress, Whom many like and admire. I’m just a sentimental man, Slightly graying, somewhat banal, And you, the princess from another time Now more refined and elegant. We play our roles to the end, Worried about only one fact: If in the final act We'll still be together.
