Acronyms
First came initials to shorten a name
Then the government got into the game
Along came computers with their new ‘DOS’
Whatever that meant, I was at a loss!
The internet blossomed, it took over
With FB and Twitter, speech was a blur
Compressing our words to say what we think
When did we banish our words to the drink?
Takes only a moment for you to say
What you really mean, speed gets in the way
Why such a hurry to say what you mean
You can’t expect me to read in-between.
Often your words have no reason or rhyme
If you can’t spell it out, don’t waste my time!
