Aching absence of love

                    The dawn is here,
                   Lighting up the sky
           And the birds are chirping
But my heart's in deep slumber.
The Sun has kissed the earth
            Embraced its warmth-glow,
                   But my heart is cold
           Because thou're not here dear.
                Aching absence of love
                     The stab is real
                  The wound is deep,
                   The pain, immense
                 But there's no remedy.
                Thou shall be my balm,
         Pass through my parched land,
              To soothe the pain within,
                  And I'll be quenched,
                       Like a fountain.
