Accidents Happen

It's winter in Michigan,
and accidents happen this time of year
Cars often lose control,
traveling on those treacherous icy roads
It's dangerous in this northern hinterland,
things tend to happen that causes consternation and fear
Poor ventilation and a faulty gas valve stem
will bleed too much deadly carbon monoxide into your system
Accidents happen,
accidents happen all the time
Accidents seem to happen a little more
in these frost bitten polar climes
But if you survive the artic winter,
and trundle out of the deep freeze cold
Springtime in Michigan
will eat you alive with those monster pot holes!

Hi Freddie, I thought about taking a trip to Michigan. But after reading this write I don't know now. Those"monster" pot holes sound like some scary stuff. But I enjoyed the poem though. Well done:-) Alexis

Such a cool write Freddie. Here in Pa. we know all about those monster pot holes in the spring. However I have experienced those monster Mi. Pot holes. They're kind of like a mini Lake Michigan When it rains. Any way good write my friend.

The "S" word in Alabama brings panic to many who live here! But, like you I'm used to it being originally from Long Island…Alabamians dont mind a couple of inches, but more than that forget it, lol! Enjoyed your Michigan poem Freddie!:)

I know we don't get as much snow as you do but MD does have monster potholes in the spring. Nicely written.

Funny, it sounds like me when I was a teen. I never saw myself in this business, but I guess I had experience...sort of. That is a shame about your daughter, having an accident is no fun and then two...nope no fun at all.

Chris, you would have loved my car back when my daughter was in high school. An accident causes her to dent/scrape up one side of the car...we get it back...returns soon after to same body shop, and the worker say, "Didn't I just fix this". Yes, it was raining, she got scared, went too fast on a left turn and scraped the car against an indestructible mailbox. Can you hear ching ching?
