Absorbed

It has been quite a while
since inspired pen has met with paper
Minutes have dripped into days
inspiration has become a stranger
I have so many gorgeous pens
yellow, gold, blue, purple, black
My instruments perfectly lined
yet my thoughts I can't unpack
As I grasp for clear ideas
they slip slide so smooth and clean
Melted crystals poured on palms
they leave a reflective sheen
As I desperately seek out myself
within these patterns of liquid light
I'm absorbed into the desert
like my hands now cracked and white
Let me close these ancient eyes
Travel to a place beyond frustration
Within the land of my slumber
I will live within imagination
There colours will be brighter
nothing will slip through outstretched hand
I'll be the master of my dominion
my mind will flex as I command
Nothing will be impossible
Until night turns into day
That's when my eyes will surely open
and my dreams will slip away!

Ah, the elusive spark of creativity. Captured elegantly in this poem, Richard. Wonderful poem w/truth displayed in the words. Every poet/poetess knows what you're talking about. Love the poem though. Love and many blessings to you.

Richard my friend, be fair to yourself for you are creating something more precious than a poem: A house! You are absorbed by it and rightly so. You are a very good poet and never your muse is going to abandon you no matter what! When the house is completed you be back stronger! A seven my friend!

I wish I wrote this well when my muse vanished or whatever it does. A flowing and absorbing bit of talent, this is. I loved reading it and appreciating it. It rolled and rocked, Richard ... CayCay

When my dreams slip away too quick.. I just create a new dream...A waking dream..Its usually in my thought..just for a little while than it leaves like the one before it.Am so happy to see you writing Rick .May your muse tickle your pen more oftenly...We ll be waiting.: )

Thanks Charmaine, it's not so much a lack of inspiration but rather a lack of time to concentrate.
