About To Expire

Do you think you could tell if a person was dying? Would you stop everything to help them? Fully obliging What if the pain was impossible to see? Not able to detect the suffering in her soul Covered in debris That girl, who walked the world only as a ghost All her symptoms invisible to the human eye, Her body, used only as a host That girl whose wounds were so deep Each day a piece of her vanished Starved herself of love, surrendering to life, Utterly famished She may not necessarily be in a hospital, Hooked up to wires She's right next to you Watching life’s clock, about to expire How can you help her If she already died An empty shell is all that remains The rest departed to the other side
