Abiding Joy
Joy
Persists,
Does not flee,
Rests on promise.
Unlike happiness,
Which ebbs and flows like tides,
Joy despairs not, is crushed not.
When all else departs, joy remains,
For when man’s spirit is bound to God’s,
Joy makes a permanent home in his heart.
