Abandon Love

crimson heart tears fall

              pride anger hurt fear -- swept clean

                             return . . . love – I plea

Poking in your closet of poems on a lazy Saturday afternoon and found this, David. Deep introspection here. Love to see a man's perspective written about doing away with the garbage that hinders love. Great write! hugs!

David, your poem captures it completely when the heart is broken and I like the layout and thanks for visiting 'lamenting mother' so happy you saw what I was creating with the spacing and pauses ~~

Sometimes no matter how much we want it there is no guarantee love will be returned by the one we love. The important part is to not close our hearts off. Love can surprise us when we least expect it to.

You can pack a wealth of emotion into a small amount of space. This gem sings on a haunting note of sadness.
