Notes About The Poem

We all live in the now a;nd sometimes the now is not all that great.   We just need a better now.;

Aa New Now

“A New Now”

A new Now is my desire.
A good Now would suit me fine
For this Now is not the Now I need.

Now let me be brief.
I’ll say it Now.
Mind your manners---
Or I’ll be gone.

The Now that’s Now
Isn't the Now I crave,
For this Now is ugly and unkind,
Full of hate, anger, and fear.

What I desire is a more quiet Now,
Full of love, peace, and harmony.
The kind our mothers spoke of
When we were young.

The Now, when mothers held us close,
Whispered sweetly in our ears,
Wrapped us up in linens,
And fed us from their breasts.

A Now that cares,
One that loves,
One that gives,
One that’s kind.
That Now would suit me fine.

When this Now is over
May its day be gone forever
Buried alive in the dustbowl of time

Now, allow me to be frank,
Banish this Now, Now!
No need to contemplate
A better Now awaits,
Much better than this cursed Now.
Rise up, Rise up, without delay.
A new dawn waits.
