This is sadly what is happening all over. It is so very sad. Depression is alive and well in more ways than one. A timely missive my friend.

Depression, oppression, repression, succession -- but will school ever be in session?!!

These are definitely hard times, but hopefully, better days lie ahead. Until then we just have to keep going. Best of wishes. :)

And, youth is resilient; most will make the big adjustments that are necessary. We will keep the faith, and they will justify our doing so! :) gw

Thank God, young people tend to be far more resilient than the elderly, so most young people will hopefully make big adjustments in their lives. Actually, I had to make some pretty huge adjustments in my life at 28 and 38, and looking back I marvel at how I did it so smoothly. So, there's always hope! :) gw

Sadly, the virus has played havoc with jobs and so much more, Gershon. I pray we can return to some semblance of normalcy soon but I fear we are in for the long haul and nothing will be the same as before - Have a grand weekend my friend - Bob

Yeah, me too. There is a paralyzing fear which has overtaken many people. Personally, I'm for opening everything up, including schools, in a reasonable, safety-first manner. Yes to masks, yes to distancing; No to closing down businesses and schools. Of course, we need top-down leadership and a huge boost in testing to accomplish what I'd like to see. And neither of those two in on the horizon, unfortunately. So, bottom line: The long haul it probably is. I'm in it for the duration of my life probably. Cheers, Gershon

That is becoming quite a familiar thing worldwide Gershon, many here in the UK made redundant, their dreams shattered. Tom

I think everywhere, actually, so many dreams shattered... This is the 2nd generation in a row now. The one before it got clobbered 2008 - 2010, what with the financial meltdown. Many of them have just vacated their jobs as baristas at Starbucks... Oh, well.
