A Young Mans Dream

A killer with a bat, he knocks it
         out of the park!
         Whilst other boys sit home.
         He’s under bright lights in the dark.

         So goal-driven, is he!
         With a room full of trophies and
         team memories.

         I know all the hard work that brought
         him here.
         Both losses and wins, now bring
         others, to their feet and cheer!

         He’s a picture of a heart brimming
         with determination.
         Quitters and excuses, just don’t
         cut it, in this American nation!

                       ……………………………

         Dedication to Edward, my grandson!
      Tall, witty, well-educated and  then some!

Joseph P. DiMino October 23, 2021 at 5:45 PM Well, to be good at sports requires a will that surpasses determination. A lot of physical pain involved. To be good at anything...poetry for instance...one needs to pour-out his heart and soul, get use to undressing in public...yet, then one has only begun. Our trophies are exhibited by the spirit of earth, pleasing to God and His heaven when beautiful and uplifting.
