A Woodpecker Pecked

A woodpecker pecked on our siding And likely, won’t listen to chiding. He left a few holes Beyond our controls In a place where we’re partly residing. An expert came by for assessing The damage where Woody’d been messing. He spritzed with a spray But could not really say Why he’d pecked there, without simply guessing. Our house by huge trees is surrounded, So I am completely confounded As to why all that wood Wouldn’t seem just as good As the siding on which he had pounded.

They are so much fun to see, especially the pileated woodpeckers. Concussions from a bug diet though??? Tough life lol

what a charming poem, the last time I saw a wood pecker was on our bird table at our house in the Uk and it was pecking away a the pole which would eventually topple the whole thing lol@=_ hugs Jan xx

Dear Ilene, LOL I love the way you are able to take every day occurrences and put them to poetry. You are so gifted at humor which most of us are so sorely in need of these days. Enjoyed..

Yes, it seems they are a little confused sometimes. They used to love TV antennas for some reason. LOL..Maybe it made their work sound so much better. Sara K

An nearly scientific limerick about a beautiful bird. Some people say that woodpeckers only peck damaged wood that contains bugs. I hope he finds another place, maybe an old log.

We have the same problem! My husband hung up reflective owls and other objects. We also have a strobe light in our addict to discourage wildlife (squirrels).

We have a woodpecker that pounds on the metal pipe covering an electric line coming down the pole. Crazy thing. Love you limerick Ilene

Crazy little creature's. We live in the wild forest , meadows a racoon had to snack on the steps. Costly. Keep Rolling.
