A Woodland Encounter
On this beautiful autumn morning I
was strolling down a woodland path,
suddenly I was stopped in my tracks
I stood in awe, rays of sunlight filtered
through autumnal foliage like magic
spotlighting your elegance and beauty
woodland aromas carried on gentle breeze
complimented by that unique fragrance,
that sweet smell of your alluring perfume
you look so graceful sitting on the trunk of
that fallen tree with bright green ferns as
a background accentuating your beautiful
blue dress that adorned your natural curves,
tentatively I approach, wanting to, needing to
make your acquaintance, I noticed that
sparkle in your light blue eyes and your near
perfect smile and the way you flicked your
strawberry blonde hair over your shoulder,
as I got near, apprehensively you averted
your head staring comprehensively at the
leaf covered ground, you didn’t seem perturbed
as I sat on the log next to you allowing a good
distance as not to invade your personal space
my strong yearning to find out who, why and what
you were doing in the forest looking so refined and
so elegant, I wanted to ask so many questions
my curiosity finally got the better of me and I
just blurted out hello my name is Roy, then I
made a stuttering request to whom her name
was and to her wellbeing, she slowly lifted her
head and turned towards me, to my astonishment
she replied in a very deep masculine voice-
“I’m Harold and I’m well mate”.
