A Woman's Work, a Woman's Worth

The baby is crying, you're busy texting, Or scrolling through social media, I take a deep breath, I'm feeling the stress Yet to you, my life couldn't be easier A break, a break...can I get a break?, To do some of the things I did before, I'm tired, exhausted, and overwhelmed, Though these signs you do ignore "Look at my little man, look at my little boy" Is what I hear as you coo, Yet you show no effort, not a measly attempt, For the one made in the image of you A break, a break...can I get a break, To do some of the things I did before, I'm tired, exhausted, and overwhelmed, Though these signs you do ignore I'm changing the diapers, I'm giving the baths, Then saving energy to clean up behind you, Understanding you work, but I need a break, I need 'me time' sometimes, it's true A break, a break...can I get a break, To do some of the things I did before, I'm tired, exhausted, and overwhelmed, Though these signs you do ignore
