A Woman

I used to be able to show you the sun
But we don't know who we are anymore
Your face is as strange as the tides in the sea
Mine is like a monster breaking the glass

You used to love me and I loved you
But I realized, we realized, that there is more
Life is to be enjoyed, and fighting for attention
Was taking that enjoyment away from me

I love this life and everything about it
Yes, that means I love the hardships
Maybe not always, but eventually-
They make me a better, a stronger girl

And I have hope of, one day, becoming a woman
