A Winter's Tale
A Winter’s Tale
Oh how I wish winter to be here again
Just the snow that lightly falls not the rain
To see the landscape all picturesque and white
It’s such a calming and beautiful sight
With snow flakes gently falling all through the day
The watery sun that shines sometimes will pay
Great dividends of many colours in the snow
Like silver and gold glittering aglow
Till the winds arrive in the night
Building great drifts with its might
Then we look at the splendid sight
And realise we must find our snow spades
That we put away last spring in the shed
So trudging there to find it and the sled
We find it a glorious sparkling sight
Of long thin hanging icicles glowing bright
Now we are free to have our escapades
Like children throwing snowballs from spades
Building snowmen and riding the sled
Then before too long it’s time for bed
To start all over again the next glorious day
Oh how I wish it would always stay
