A Winter’s Gem

In the wee hours before the sun rises
on this Winter’s morn,
With gentle grace twirling through
crisp cold air,
I saw the arrival of the first burst of
snowflakes of the year,
In the garden, every leaf they adorn.

Delicate patterns intertwine like ribbons
of white lace,
Fluttering and spinning in a dance so
pure and full of grace,
Snowflakes are one of Winter’s most
beautiful gems,
These fleeting moments of joy can only
be seen as they leave no trace.

Each flake, a little dancer, unique in
its way,
With a slight touch of the sun’s ray,
they sadly melt away,
Life is short, and like the snowflakes
that fall,
Let’s lose ourselves in this magic and
swirl with the flakes, as each moment
is a miracle and a gift to us all.

Hello Zyrool, I enjoyed your poem. This made me think about the beauty and charm of winter and how our heart feels so warm in winter because of its beauty. "Let's lose ourselves in this magic and swirl with the flakes, as each moment is a miracle and gift to us." I genuinely appreciate these words. Winter is so precious!!

Yes, each moment is like a falling flake of snow delighting our glance for a moment but melts away with sun rise. Life too is fleeting like snowflakes. So try to enjoy every moment that we get. The first winter snow is beautifully described. Zyrool, enjoyed your lovely description.

Ahh!! I like this one. Snow falling does have a special feel to it. Where I live, we don't get snow very often. Maybe every ten years or so. There is such a silence when it falls and only the sound of the snow falling is heard. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

Hello Sara, I am so glad you liked it, thank you so much. I guess not having snow is a good thing, as you haven’t got to worry about the high heating cost. :) since I became ill with arthritis I can’t bear the cold. Wishing you a fabulous new week ahead and a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, my friend.
