Notes About The Poem

A Wilted Rose

in a slender vase
on the bare bedside table
a faded rose droops...
my love, drained and time consumed
succumbs to fragility

Such gorgeous imagery of melancholy emotion Paul. The image of a faded and wilted rose relates well to the delicate vulnerability of love. An alluring and poignant poem my friend. Warmest wishes ~Susan

The imagery through your words is just stunning and so apropos of how nature and us are one in the same. The title with the first word being rather forlorn next to the "Rose" known for awe inspiring beauty, is quite stark and sets up your poem wonderfully. A gem Paul:)

I missed this beautiful piece of melancholy Paul, once again we were away at an Expo at the time - I can almost smell the redolence of the wilted rose...Maria
