A Waste of Time
You used to be so in love with me
Once upon a time I meant everything to you
I took one look into those eyes so blue
And I found myself head over heels too
We were almost always on the phone
But now anytime it rings
It's never your smile followed by your ringtone
Yet to your memory my heart clings
After everything you put me thru
You'd think it'd be easy to let you go
Still it felt like the hardest thing I'd ever have to do
I just kept telling myself to take it slow
Taking one day at time
Telling myself time was all it would take
Sure that sooner or later I'd be just fine
And for you my heart would no longer ache
Just never thought it would take this long
Didn't think the little things would still get to me
But sometimes all it takes is that one song
And I find with my heart I must plea
So I don't fall too far back
Cuz it took so long for me to get here
Finally feel like I'm on the right track
Learning to live with my biggest fear
But none of that matters anymore
Cuz the thoughts and feelings we shared
Are nothing more than an old memory from before
You more than showed you no longer cared
Hidden behind all your lies
It took me all this time to finally find
The truth behind those baby blue eyes
Though it wasn’t easy I finally made up my mind
To let the past be the past
Set the love I held for you free
Cuz this time was my last
We'll never be what we used to be
Can't believe I wasted all this time
This much I've come to learn is true
Never again will you be mine
But hey its cool….I'm so over you!!!!!
