A Walk In the Woods
I’ve been told to walk in a wood is-
To visit ancient faerie grounds
To fill up your senses with the perfume of dryads
I’ve been told to walk in a wood is beautiful-
But I think a mosquito just bit me.
I’ve been told a wood is full of magic-
It’s the haunt of all things pure,
It hides rare beauties and paintings,
Of hands much more skilled then ours,
But I just got a thorn in my shoe.
I guess the woods are full of enchantments-
And one might get lost in its spells
But myself, I just tripped
And I believe
Got mud on this brand new shirt.
