A Walk In the Woods
"Walking trough the woods,
I let my mind wander all I could
Hoping the shackles of a busy world will fall away,
To lighten my step when this burden gives way
To allow the beauty of the forest,
To resonate within me with its chorus
The melodies of the lark,
Plucking the strings on my heart
The caw of the raven,
That I am intruding it’s haven
The scent of the canopy of fir trees,
What a wonderment it is to believe
All the facets of life,
And God’s perfection to make it right
I happen upon a moment of stillness,
Surrounded by nature’s brilliance
And observe the majestic sight,
Of an eagle in flight
It’s strong wings, wave easily,
So powerful an image this native deity
It circles over the lake,
Searching for a fish he can take
To share with its hatchlings,
I am left to wondering
That even in the calm of nature,
There is always a danger
To be food for another prey,
As in life every day
Remember to live for the moment,
And embrace all of life’s enjoyment
For tomorrow may not be there for us,
Which is why, in God we trust"
