A Voice

I heard a voice ask “why?”
“Why what?”, I replied
What are you doing with your life
I just don’t know sometimes
Don’t you know you’re special
So why do you want to blend
Why sell yourself short
When you can set your own trends
A natural born leader you are
Pave your own way
You have just what you need
To maximize your days
You’re a genius
I know
You know
Why not let it show
Stop trying to get by
And do your best work
You’re brighter on your worst day
Than what you may believe
You have all you need
To achieve
Above all your hopes and dreams
Because I called you
Really, you gave this to me
Yep, even now, while you yet dream
Praying for revelation
A glimpse of the future to foresee
I know who you were
I know who you are
Yep, even now, while you yet dream
I know who you will be
Even when you won’t believe
What does that mean
You’re running,
From yourself,
You lie,
The voice asked, “Why?”
“Why what?” I replied
Again, the voice asked, “Why?”

I am the voice. I am all that you know. I am all that you don't know. I am the question and the answer. When you look deep inside you will find the sky. When you search through the dark, I'm the light you will find If you look at your hand, you will see a palm. If you close your hand, you will see a hammer. This was a good inspection of self. A question that everyone asks. I hope you find the answer and thanks for making me think.
