A Visitor Passing Through

As I sit here pondering about life, an intense feeling of utter sadness greets me. It came out of nowhere instantly. What should I do now? Emotions will come and go. They're normal, and they serve a purpose, there is a time to be sad and happy, and angry too. But one's emotions shouldn't be a master over them, one must master their emotions. Let sadness be a visitor passing through, not a permanent guest. If sadness tries to overstay its welcome, kick sadness out and serve an eviction notice. Let love, joy, and kindness be lifetime guests, in and out of season. Choose joy and happiness always.Writing this poem has driven the intense feeling of sadness away. Poetry is so powerful; it has the ability to change one’s mood. Alexis Y. 06/09/2021

Wonderful words of wisdom here my friend. Sadness doesn't accomplish anything but self pity. It destroys quality of life. Get out there and find something to love. I love my pets and they give me a reason to keep on keeping on. My God gives me not only a reason but the fortitude to live and help others. Great job here my friend. God Bless, JB

Yes, yes and yes, Alexis. Happiness is our choice. You do not search for it, you create your own happiness. Atta Girl, good job. Have a great day.

Indeed Alexis, poetry can be cathartic, I find it better to write things down, and get them out of my system, not saying it works all the time, but more times than not it does work, a nice positive message for us all in your poem, cheers David
