A VIOLIN VERSE BETWEEN VENOM AND VENUS
Outside the library when sun froze in the arm of winter claws
I saw my morning star the brightest pearl in winter’s dark sea
Venus Goddess spread her wings in my darkest hour
and sprinkled hope rain to grow love seeds in my wandering soul
You came like spring after frost
a honeyed sunrise melting ice from my chest
Your eyes were oceans holding constellations
and my joy bloomed a garden set free
My heart burned sweet as amber fire
and my pulse was a Tchaikovsky violin concerto dancing in the rain
When you held my hand Caprice No 24 sang inside my ribs
and every step we took was a flower valley under our feet
For a moment grief forgot my name
For a moment sorrow was a door I closed
Your kiss on my forehead was sunlight on a wilted stem
love made me weightless made me whole
But beauty is fragile glass
One day the venom came cold silent a Taipan in the dark
A devil’s shadow stole you from me
and shattered the glass in front of my eyes
A violin verse between venom and Venus
that is where my music broke
Joy became ash Laughter turned to rain
My heart once a lantern turned purple with grief
and my soul wandered mapless in the snow
Still I sing
Not for what I lost
but for the hymn love left behind
a melody that bleeds and still somehow breathes
