A Valley Which Does Not Rest
Count the dead
add the wounded
multiplied by the countless years of disarray
the total sum of lives without peace is astounding
living on with only memories of lost ones
dreams haunted by violence that looms
fear stifles, visions of bloodshed embedded each day
the valley lacks tranquility and does not sleep
lives are taken by unsparing acts of rampage
no healing can mend, scars remain and reflect those tragedies
the unrighteousness has plagued us for many years now
we are longing for some comfort, but turbulence runs amok
Lessons have been laid to implement prevention
but the gate remains fractured and left alone
whose duty is it to rise up and be heard?
many won’t hear it, they’ve fallen in the valley.
one cannot be silent and let the turmoil continue
rise and be counted before another life is counted
our children will hopefully have freedom from apprehension
we can provide what they need to ensure freedom for all.
we stand strong to defend our county which cost lives
we must take stance to promote the same for our children
its not a choice to act or not, it’s a matter of principle
to ensure what we fought for was achieved by saving lives
