A Trip Too Far
Young and in my late teens,
I took my first trip afar,
I landed in Hawaii,
And went out to a bar.
I certainly had fun,
Until the next day,
When I had a tour booked,
To fly across Hanama bay.
We landed at a small air strip,
Isolated out in a country field,
We flew in groups on six seater planes,
Suddenly I felt my fate was sealed.
Then we moved onto a big tour bus,
Waves of stomach cramps began to spread,
My head spun, my teeth clenched,
I thought I was close to dead
While 50 other people got on the bus,
I quietly asked the driver “if there was a bathroom on board?”
He shook his head from side to side,
Then he drove on ahead and I was ignored.
He drove across the field and up to a big hanger,
And announced over his big, loud microphone,
“We are here for the lady that needs the bathroom”
And I got off the bus, head bowed and all alone!
