A Tribute To Mothers
Created by God to give birth,
and to populate mother earth.
Though sin made the process painful,
to the task you have been faithful.
The children you bear may cause pain,
As Eve experienced with her Cain.
He chose to become a rebel,
and to kill his brother Abel.
You do not perfection possess,
this your children do confess.
But you possess rare qualities
and have many abilities.
After months of great discomfort,
you endure the pain of childbirth.
Then comes the nurture and caring,
and the years of burden-bearing.
Mom your roles are great in number,
causing you to resist slumber.
Before daylight, you start to stir,
And many days are but a blur.
God made you and gave you the skill,
and the heart his will to fulfill.
He gave you the job to mother,
and teach us to love each other.
Join with me, say thanks to mothers,
who are always helping others.
Be they well, sick, alive, or dead,
Never let their memory fade.
Say thanks to God each day for them,
Keep them forever in your head.
