A Triad of Tanka IIII: Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji, waking,

Lifting on girdling pink cloud

In early dawning,

Casts its slopes and snowcapped peak

On flat mirroring water.
-------------------------------------

Fuji; slow sunrise.

Then a sea of blazing cloud

Sets the hills aflame!

Crowding onto a shoreline:-

Hosts of purple lavender.
-------------------------------------

Fuji in Moonshine;

Floating cranberries, amassed,

Shiver in cold light.

Ruby redness contrasting

Against crystaline night sky.

I will read to you again, Brenda Lee. Sometime in the New Year when the World takes a well needed breather and steps back in quiet reflection...I will read you some more poetry. With great affection. john :)

Mount Fuji is one of my most adored of mountains. I have painted a beautiful drawing of Mount Fuji, which adores my drawing room. Your description is fantastic, dear John. I love all the three tankas, especially the last one.

This is where I have to admit I know very little of Fuji and I never wrote a tanka. Still I loved your trio of poems.

Now there's a thought, Rose. It never occurred to me that I could submit it, at sometime perhaps, as such. Hmmm...something to consider. Many thanks, Rose! :) john

You possess a remarkable gift, John. These tankas, in soft embrace, intricately weave their narratives, exquisitely interconnected and linked. Nice Job
