A Tree Lovely As Poetry

There stands a lofty tree beckoning to lovebirds whilst it shades wildflowers and dreamers resting 'neath its majestically revered stateliness, portrayed by famed artists alike, written farthermost poetic essence midst ennobled exaltation's grandeur

Have you heard of the Tor in Glastonbury? This reminds me of the twin oak trees there called Gog and Magog! Was an ancient Druid grove at the foot of Stonedown. Magog was 11 feet in diameter, and more than 2,000 season-rings were counted. Shamefully fell in about 1906 to clear for farms! An interesting research indeed. This poem has really captured the essence of nature and poetry itself, or the arts in general if you will! I simply have to add this one to my Crane-bag! Ha.

alas, I've the heart of a poet, the mind of a clown — I swoon, yet know not why. Sensing a liberation from the confines of tradition. I'll admit my resistance to form is as much due to laziness as ability, hence I find refuge with rebels. Lovely though, says a dim civilized corner of my mind. ~ j

I like this poem. I read it twice and then I saw imagery. Kind of like a camera shot of this tree. It starts in close and then moves out to a wider view. Starting out as a mere refuge for lovebirds and wild flowers...to being the subject of famous artist and poets. Very beautiful work! MC

So much inspiration can be found in nature and the beauty she provides which brings me to this amazing poem and the wonderful beauty it provides. I found myself sitting beneath the shade of a stately oak as I read this today. Such a soothing and calm feeling piece of art.
