A Tree In the Dark

Mottled Earthen tints:
leaves of a deep dark ruby,
light lavender,

golden hickory.
Uplifted skeleton faces,
buried together,

onyx hues on the bones-
the waxing of Winter moons.
War in the distance.

is better.
