A Trauma That Won'T Go Away

I still think the world of you,
 Just so you know.
Spaces between my fingers,
 Where yours used to go.
Your arms that held my waist,
 Are replaced with aching pains.
I put myself in my cocoon,
So time will heal my open wounds.
But the scars still remain,
A trauma that won't go away.
Since we've been apart,
I've been writing only the words of a broken heart.
