A Touch of Friendship

When we touched as friends, the whole world was at peace.
Like the calm waves rushing forth
   To meet the rugged rocks-
We met;
      Joined hands and made our relationship what it is--

A closeness,
                    a feeling,
                                    a thought,
                                                     an expression of what is yet to be.

Something strange, unique and unusual happened-
         A familiar state of mind
                           To last through the end of time-
                        When we touched as friends.
