A Time of Day

Then you saw me, now you don’t When I’m close, a time of day Goes much faster, but it won’t When I’m sent away Now more time surrounds you And of course, more space Doing what you ought to do You don’t see my face The whole difference of that When I’m not around A bit more of time you get And a less of sound You don’t have to speak and smile You may laugh no more You can walk a country mile Like you did before You preferred to sent me off Cause I was too near Probably this kept you of Other things, my dear Now you hide away your face Through the day I think of you Days slow down their pace Like they used to do When we gather, days speed up Looks like life goes on Faster, and each day erupts In its own time zone If sometimes you think of me In the evening time Call me on, and there I’ll be At about nine.
