A Time of Change

It's cold inside
My mind at times
And life is but a dream

I've tried to leave
The past behind
But nothing's what it seems

As seasons face
The days to come
the air is brisk
my body's numb

Now things
have changed
In life with age
and all that's said is done

everything
In life you hate
Your eyes are blind
An altered state

And everything
that is and was
Is coming back
And always does

Cos life
you see
has come to be
a finger pointing back at me

So in the dark
or in the stars
Some day you will see

When life is hard
and leaves it's mark
The scars can run so deep

Now Looking back
on through the past
that cold reality

The same mistakes
I always make
And now I'll always be

Just heading down
That same old path
A final breath I breathe

Sounds like forgiving yourself is in order. I really enjoyed the writing.

Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wrote this quite a while ago and have forgiven myself since then. But to be honest I have a hard time writing when life is good.
