Togetherness......Is Worth Crying For!
Twenty years flashes through her memory
'Clock stopped at a quarter 'til four
Broken home, broken heart, broken dishes....
Life in pieces...all over the floor
The only word that comes to mind is...Why?
There's gotta be a thousand ways to cry
He's reflecting in a motel mirror
'Tells himself, he's not in denial
But he bares his soul to a brand new bottle
'Pulls up a chair....says "think I'll stay a while"!
Where he'll spend the weekend....getting high
There's gotta be a thousand ways to cry
Dance Captain..Miss cheerleader....
All everything of her high school
Now she sits alone in the commons corner
'Doesn't speak unless she's spoken to.....
'Ask her what's the matter...and she'll lie
There's gotta be a thousand ways to cry
Grand slam!! Rounding the bases
Senior night...His last game at home
When he sees two familiar faces....
Holding hands! Cheering him on!
An answered prayer falls from his smiling eyes
There's gotta be a thousand ways to cry!
