A Thousand Splendid Suns Part 7
At first
Threatened.
Then
Connection
We shared our sorrows
Our secrets
We took care of the children
Aziza and Zalmai
We shared our love for them
After having a girl
Rasheed beat her too
The only one he liked was Zalmai
The only one who wasn't abused
Got gifts
A larger portion of food.
We still loved Zalmai with all our hearts.
