A Thousand Splendid Suns Part 2
Fantasies are grand
But when broken they mess up plans
I wanted to see the world
To see a movie at Jalil's cinema
Nana said she'd die if I left
I snuck into the city
I went to the mansion that was Jalil's
The man said he wasn't there
But I saw him in the window
I stayed the night
Outside.
Cold.
Abandoned.
He was not a hero
Not my father
I went home to my family
Nana
My mother
To find her hanging in a tree
Not able to take the loss of her daughter.
