A Ten Spot

A funny thing happened on my way to work Was stopped by a down and out man Asked if I could spare a ten spot for a coffee Ten bucks could buy a whole damn can! Said he didn't want to keep on bugging me Every day when we met on the street Thought a ten spot would keep him in coffee For two or possibly three weeks! I suspected this coffee he was talking about Wasn't your Colombian brew His breath was enough to knock down a rhino It was extraordinarily potent, p-eew! Well lo and behold saw a dude with a camera Filming the whole damn scene Turned out this down and out beggar guy Was a plant from Candid Camera it seems! Was just about to give him the middle finger Good thing they told me in time Could have seen my mug on national TV Giving him that very rude sign! © Jack Ellison 2013

I am glad you behaved yourself. Wouldn't want to see you with that middle finger sticking out. I sometimes give money to homeless man - if I feel led to do that. Sometimes you see the same one on the same corner all the time. I wonder if they truly use the money for food or use it for booze. Enjoyed, Jack.

My guess is that some are legitimate and really need money for food while others go for the booze. Hard to tell! Thank you once again Toquyen... hugs, Jack

Hahaha... now I really wonder. Did this actually happen to you? I've always wanted to be on Candid Camera (or even better Just For Laughs). I don't think I've ever spent 10 bucks for a cup of coffee... but I do love me some Dutch Bros. MMM...

No... just a poem Got the biggest kick out of that show, though! AFV is also fun although a bit contrived!

Now me, I'd walk him over to the latest eatery and buy him a sandwich to eat... Wouldn't give him any money... It's a life choice he made... Some times they actually do change... tho it could be years later... some times not... but they're the ones to suffer... If I discovered it was Candid camera... Then I would ask for my money back from them... I help the needy, not the manipulative...

That show's been on since the year ONE but I still get a big kick out of it! The reactions of people in these situations are hilarious! Hugs, Jack xoxox
