A Tear For Planet Earth

A Tear for Planet Earth Some un-named politicians, Do not lose sleep, about the World’s Cimate plight, They don’t give a thought That they should get involved, And our planet should All unite. They do not care, And give little thought, that we are close to a crisis, A real nightmare. Cyclones, hurricanes, earthquakes, Floods, fires, tsunamis, mudslides, Are but a few I can name, Countries have experienced, this weird Climate change, and pain. Our world seems to be turning Upside down, And all we do is shed a tear, And perhaps frown, Do we grasp that pollution Sad to say, Is here to stay? Global warming is our Planet’s threat, Humanity in fact owes planet, Earth, a debt! Apocalypse we are heading for, What have we in store? We must go back to before, To the origins of human core, And have to solve, And actively evolve, To find resolve, For we are near , To die, Or fry, Or perhaps a cool breeze, Will make us sneeze, And eventually freeze. Politicians please do not Look the other way These scary global warnings, Are but a heartbeat away!

A beautiful comment Kim and from a true witness. Thank-you for sending it viral. It is becoming a desperate situation, and people have not woken up to the fact yet! We should all be aware. Thank-you for your lovely comment Kim - have a nice day! xoxo, Jennifer.

So true but, as long as we keep electing those who don't care, it's only going to get worse. Children are our future; everyone's a bit of a teacher so, the more we teach children that Earth is our mother and we should take care of her, respect her and love her; when they grow up, perhaps they'll be those politicians who do care. A well penned piece.

Never a truer word spoken M.L! Where ever we live on this planet, a priority is to elect politicians and especially a president that we trust or who we hope we can trust! There is a generation to catch up if the children of today will or want to go into politics. What is so scary at present is that so much is wrong with our world, will it withhold another maybe 20 years before matters become absolutely critical? Thank-you for your understanding and warm comment M.L. xoxo, Jennifer.

Love your honesty. Love your concern. I feel money is getting in the way of our grandchildren's futures. We cannot eat money. Money cannot house us. Money cannot save us when all is lost either. Money is not as valuable as some might hope. Money money money money. Sometimes I wish we still had a bartering system, but not with money. Sad times my friend.

Yes Caren the bartering or reciprocal system worked, it could work again, that is if, money was not around and man was not so greedy! However it seems that Bitcoin is trying to take over, and then again, those involved are still earning money! Thank-you Caren for your meaningful comment. xoxo, Jennifer

Another well-written passionate plea for sanity in an insane world where people only see and hear fake news on their iPhone! I just received a plea to financially support our National Parks, but as soon as one does, Trump "restores" the land to the ''Public Domain" so his friends can rape the natural resources (VERY expensive! A true businessman would buy them from developing nations and keep ours in reserve). It is reassuring to read the favourable comments to your work! Aloha! Rico

Hi Rico, Wherever Trump is involved in anything , greed is the imperative word! As you say, once the National parks belong to the Public Domain Trumps group of merry men will definitely rape these natural resources. But if we buy from developing nations (Third world Countries) are we not just shifting responsibility and still encouraging the rape of other land on mother earth? Yasou, Jennifer

G'day Jennifer … as with practically political decision, they come after the horse has bolted. I don't know what the solution to greed is, but Mother Nature has it and will eventually enforce it - thank you Jennifer - Lindsay

HI lindsay, Greed one of the seven deadly sins has been around forever, but we are soon to feel Mother Natures wrath against this evil. I think God is so disappointed with us all, that he wants to cleanse this earth and let it be re-born! Best wishes, Jennifer.

But mine is such a small voice in the wilderness Arturo, though it speaks with great passion. However as I mentioned to Carolyn, maybe poetry soup members can collectively act positively and send a petition to "World Climate Care". Best wishes, Jennifer.

Hope those who make laws read this, Jennifer. It does appear we are headed for a sad reckoning, when our wasteful habits will do us in. And we all want a clean, safe world for future generations. Just last night the Weather Channel had a special on how "fracking" can lead to earthquakes like the one we just had in Alaska. Your message is timely and on target! Hugs, carolyn

Sadly you are quite right Carolyn, and it is us humans and no one else who have almost destroyed our planet. We have such little time left, we beg that anyone reading all this do something, say something or act with passion, that includes all us poetry soup members - what should we do, what must we do? xoxo, Jennifer.

We see it all the time, forests cut down, rubbish everywhere, factories' belching toxic fumes into the atmosphere, with not a care for future generations. This planet is heading for an apocalypse and I'm glad I won't be around to see it. Well written Jennifer. Tom.

Jennifer, what you say about your son and his wife not wanting to raise children now is so very sad, but understandable.

Hi Tom, We are living in scary times, my son and his wife have decided not to bring children into this world, as they say they can almost feel the oncoming of decay that will bring about planet earth's fall. Thank-for your comment Tom. Best wishes, Jennifer.

Hi Anne-Lise, Thank-you for your kind comment. It is really disconcerting to see rubbish just thrown out of a cars window, or a child that has not been taught to throw rubbish in a bin, so many examples one can think of, but thank-you for understanding. A wonderful weekend to you also dear friend. xoxo, Jennifer.
