A Sweet Southern Night

Rocking on my front porch,
watching fireflies twinkling,
harmonizing to an illumination of stars......
as they dance from the heavens above.
Chasing winds cool my face....
with the sweet smell of honeysuckle,
grabbing hold of my senses.
The resonance of laughter
in my children’s voices, echoing.....
a tune, from an open window.
Reminding me of pure happiness and love......
and all that is good in the world.
