A Sunken Pink Camaro

A Sunken Pink Camaro

Tropical fish.
swim in and out of the windows
 of a sunken pink Camaro.
I dive, leaving a rainbow stream
 of billowing bubbles

Above on
the timber pier, someone
with a piano accordion
plays chiming French music,
while nearby old fishermen
swap vivid fish stories’.

Through ripples,
of clear water I see,
children dancing to tin drums
beaten by a lively,
ivory- toothed Jamaican.

I surface,
with a turquoise-tailed
mermaid, perched on
my left shoulder.

Some how,
I have rescued her
from a sunken pink Camaro

Your title drew me in ... I was dreadfully curious. Quite a whimsical little ditty you have here. I'm here scratching my head wondering what makes the Camaro sudden, or how it is a mermaid could be perched on your shoulders! Ha! Great colorful fun.

Dear Anne-Lise: Thanks for your visit and good wishes. My shingles have me confined to home but the meds have helped considerably with the extreme discomfort.

Thanks Andrea: I liked your history of cars owned...They really are a big part of our lives. Like you we always bought used cars for many years and a few years ago we were in a position to buy my dream car....a silver MERCEDES CONVERTABLE. The top is fully electronic and reminds me of an aero plane with the precision of how it folds down, even this one had been pre-owned but lightly used. I love it for how it makes me feel, SuZ
