A Stroll Along Memory Lane

Images cascade before us
  Strolling 'long memory lane
Lithe and supple were we back in those days
Before decades of stresses and strain

I jump high, pluck a leaf from a tree
You twirl about and fall into me
Shops seem so tiny and quaint
  Proprietors honest, without taint

We stop at the drugstore for a soda
  Seated high atop spin-around stools
Two straws but just one chocolate phosphate
~ Puppy lovers who play by the rules

I remember those days, with cherry cokes and tall bubbly malted milk glasses with stems!

Yes, I too shared a chocolate soda with one of my first dates. Back in my days of young when I thought a kiss on the cheek was having sex (lol). Love this!

Perhaps it depends which cheek(s) you're kissing there, Romeo. lol. Thanks, Charlie!

Nice verse Gershon. Without order in society there is chaos. What is sad is that dysfunctional families raise dysfunctional children. So much of what we see today is the result of the abuse of drug use during pregnancy and the child's detrimental mental development in the womb. Very similar to FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder).

We're living in insane times, that's for sure. Thanks for your insights, Dennis. Peace through Strength, Gershon

No 'safe places' these days, John. lol. Thanks for the laugh. ~ Gershon
